Alpha to beta

We both went to town during lesson with permission to take some photo's for our magazine, we were on the hunt for some local shops in melton mowbray where we could buy musical instruments, however the local music shop 'Mel-tone' was shut luckly it was market day and we found a stall that sold a few basic instruments! and edition 1 is finally out of mock!

Here are the finished ones.

The weekend job

Over the weekend we had to crack on with edition one, and with the deadline this friday it had to be done right here right now. The contents was revamped and the first page of the interview has been completed, all we need now is to get new images and edition one will be in the bag.

Friday, 5 February 2010

Question, question, question time!

On the bases of finding more information to adapt and improve our magazines we produced a series of questionnaires that we distributed to the public. Here was a typical example of one.

We later then decided to give a short summary in the form of a graph which displayes how many people out of 10 voted for the different answers.

Put on my shoes and ive done work over the weekend

It is now the 1st of febuary, and the deadline for our first edition to be in is in roughly two weeks. So over the course of the weekend Moliver has come up with some experimental designs of the contents page, second page of the interview and rough cover of edition two. However nothing is set in stone yet so things could change.

So now we come to the analysis. We have looked over two magazines including its front covers, contents and double page soreads. Of course we have written about what we like and how we think it suites its aims of attracting audiences.

Above: Here is our analysis which look at key information and layouts apodted by simlar magazines that attract the readers attention which are spaced well.

Alot

Since the last time we met the matt team has come up with some staggering process, oh yes. Infact one of the two front covers have been completed

Upwards?

So finally we come to today. The 26th of january on which we have now completed the final edits of the articles. All we need to do now is transform them on photoshop to suite the general theme of the magazine.

Below: Interview with David Buswell

Above: Article "How to start a band on a budget"

Onwards

Of course magazines are not just front covers, so we needed to come up with related articles to each one. We both came up with "how to start a band on a budget" and an "Interview with a rising music production star" and by the 21st of january we had relevant images to suite with the articles.

First Post

Hello. and welcome to me (Matt Maunder) and my freind (Matt Oliver)'s coursework. You know why we are both here so I will cut to the chase.

We were set the task of constructing two issues of a music magazine. and earlier in the year we both conducted a mockup of how to practice our photoshop and magazine producting skills.

We searched the internet and shops for magazines and styles we liked and were interested in we found a magazine called "Death Rock" the layout was nice and the colour scheme was perfectly blended together and attractive! just what we were looking for.

This gave us the basic layout on which we designed around to create the net result
